For most of history, humans moved their bodies throughout the day a lot more than we do in our culture. Hunting, gathering, building, and even doing the laundry all required a lot of physical effort that we just don’t have to expend today. Machines have taken on the more exerting tasks of everyday life.
While this is convenient and time-saving, it’s not doing our bodies any favors! If you sit throughout the day, it more than your butt that’s paying the price: there are other health risks, too.
